BIL weekly shipping schedule
Following recent inquiries about our schedule, Bass Island Line (BIL) wants to reiterate that we are operating a weekly schedule with John Duigan departing Geelong on Sunday, departing Grassy on Monday and then departing Bell Bay on Wednesday.
John Duigan is operating as per this schedule.
It is important to be clear that there is no committment to leave at a particular time on those days. This is impractical for a range of operational reasons including weather, delivery and loading times for cargo and customer demand on any given voyage.
If you would like to know specific information on arrival and departure times for any given voyage, please get in touch with BIL on 1300 038 228 or info@bassislandline.com.au
Equipment shelter ready for action
Work is underway on the new equipment shed at the Port of Grassy.
Ross Bowker and the King Island team have done a great job progressing this despite some tough weather and in coordination with other port activity over the past few weeks, including the community event for John Duigan.
The new storage will provide protection for approximately $1 million of mobile equipment including a 35t Hyster and 37t Kalmar container forklift which will assist in the loading and unloading of ships coming to King Island.
Media coverage
We were delighted to have had the opportunity to partner with BreastScreen Tasmania to assist in bringing their new mobile screening unit to King Island recently. The Daily Cargo News ran a story on the initiative, which you can read by clicking on this link here.
