Current weather warnings
Bass Island Line (BIL) and Investigator II’s Master are closely monitoring the current weather situation with heavy rains expected across Victoria and – to a lesser extent – Tasmania.
The next sailing for this week has been delayed by 24 hours due to currently high wind and seas forecasted for Northern Bass Strait and King Island over the next 48 hours.
Project house units
An overnight journey on Tuesday between the Tasmanian mainland and the island saw BIL complete a shipment of house units this week.
BIL moved four units over two voyages between Stanley to Grassy for a private company that builds homes.
“We’re happy to be assisting in this successful and exciting project,” BIL Business Manager, Tom McBroom said.
“This is another example of the variety of cargo we move to and from King Island.”
BIL has just released its Christmas schedule to give customers the festive season trading information. This can be found on the BIL website, along with our current schedules.
