Services for the upcoming weekend are running on schedule.
The Investigator II is set to depart on Sunday 1 October at 1pm and will arrive in Grassy at 7am on Monday 2 October
Freight to date
Since commencing operation on 7 April 2017 BIL has moved 29,011 tonnes of freight into and off King Island including fertiliser, livestock, fuel, groceries, stockfeed, household goods, construction materials, agricultural equipment, motor vehicles and TasWater’s King Island pipeline project cargo.
World Maritime Day 2017
Today is World Maritime Day 2017 and this year’s theme is ‘Connecting Ships, Ports & People’.
Tom McBroom, Business Manager for BIL, said the theme of the United Nations’ day highlighted the critical link between shipping, ports and people, including for King Island.
“This day allows us to appreciate the connecting link that BIL is working to provides for trade, employment and communities on King Island,” he said.
