During a livestock crossing to Grassy yesterday evening, the “Investigator II” experienced a hinge failure on a ramp extension.
The vessel is currently returning to Devonport for repairs which are expected to be completed within 24 hours. TasPorts staff at Devonport are already working on the replacement parts.
BIL does not expect any change to the general cargo sailings on the “Investigator II” from Devonport this week. The next sailings are shown below.
BIL has already been in contact with its livestock customer to discuss the movement of their cattle.
Separately, BIL would like to thank customers who took advantage of the Sunday opening last week to collect full containers and return empties.
